Kryolan Shoot

It was lovely to see the images from my shoot with Kryolan earlier in the year get shared globally this summer. I worked with the UK team at the fantastic Holborn Studios, where Kryolans Global Head of Makeup Paul Merchant directed the shoot, and photographer Chris Davis captured the images so beautifully. My models Mel and Axel were absolute superstars!

With the watercolour flower brief, I had to adjust my style to a less is more approach to fit with the beautiful crisp fashion branding that Kryolan are so well known for. Kryolan pro team artist Leanne Simm created beautiful flawless makeup and male grooming for me to then go in and focus on the body paint detail. The placement here was absolutely everything because it needed to flow nicely across the body as well as both models being able to pose beautifully together with the designs interlocking.

I created the design using Kryolan's airbrush product Nebula, however I only used my actual airbrush to get a basic shape for the petals and leaves. I then used Nebula remover in certain places to wear away some of the paint, to try and give a more authentic watercolour effect.

I then went in with Nebula using fine paint brushes in order to create the detail. The fact that Nebula is designed for airbrush meant that the consistency of the paint was perfect to create watercolour effects, whilst not affecting the pigmentation.

I'm so happy with the results which were shared globally across Kryolan's media platforms, as well as being used on banners and in brochures at the World Bodypainting Festival in Austria this year!

I also discovered that one of the pictures from this shoot graces the walls of the Kryolan stores! I had to pinch myself when I saw it!
